Hindi Divas

The Consulate General of India in Melbourne celebrated Hindi Divas on 14 September 2021.  Hindi Divas is important as Hindi was recognised as an official language of India on 14 September 1949. The Consulate General of India, Melbourne, in collaboration with Hindi Shiksha Sangh and Sahitya Sandhya, organized an essay and poetry competition.

This was done in 3 categories of entries:

  • Junior Students (Grade 1-6)
  • Senior Students (Grade 7-12)
  • Adults

There were six themes for the participation under the main heading of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav".   

A VCE Hindi student from our VSL Glen Waverley Centre, Shreesh Varshney, participated in the senior students category and achieved 3rd prize in the poetry competition.

His topic was "Self-Reliant India". Congratulations to Shreesh.
