Indian Independence Day Celebrations at the Point Cook Centre

On the 15th of August 2019, India celebrated its 73rd Independence Day. This marked a significant day for the Indian community all over the world. Gaining independence, allowed the Indian people to migrate to countries across the world, including Australia. In honour of this day, a celebration was hosted at the VSL Point Cook Centre, emphasising the importance of Independence Day. The Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Gujarati students at the Point Cook Centre, came together to present a variety of songs, recitals and colourful performances, to an audience of very proud parents and teachers. Overall, the day’s celebratory event, allowed the students of the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Gujarati classes at the point Cook Centre, to learn and enjoy the significance of their history, culture and language.
